I truly wished I could be outside enjoying the weather while the humidity level was down. Waiting to be out and about in the Airstream is very much like waiting for Christmas morning was when I was small. It’s not that I don’t love the shop and my work, but I’m feeling increasingly worn out and stressed, to the point that I’ve agreed to take a day off per week to help find some relief and remedy.
I sat and spoke with James the other day and expressed some of this to him, along with some of the doubts I’ve been having that feel almost like a crisis of faith. James doesn’t think of himself as a good manager, but to my way of thinking, a person who will make time to listen to someone in their employ no matter what else is on their plate is right up there with the best of them, and that’s exactly what he does. Without fail. Sometimes all I need is five minutes with a senior tattooer in order to understand that what I’m gong through isn’t any sort of weakness, but most likely my mind not correctly interpreting a plea from my physical form to stop a while and allow for some recuperation to take place. So a day off is a reasonable solution.
Kind of ironic considering in less than five months I’ll have more of them than I think I’m prepared to admit.
Brundlefly’s bath went very well the other day. We discovered the bathtub is the best solution to prevent biting and clawing. She was actually rather cooperative and now smells a lot less funky. No fur means the oils on her skin build up. Kitty acne is not something I’m remotely well enough to deal with and I think I’d rather sit through endless reruns of Cop Rock that pop a single zit on my cat. Bath time will be much less stressful from this moment forth, I believe.
I talked Anaphys into preparing Pork Satay and Shrimp with Baby Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce for our repast in the evening. I very much enjoy the downtime of a nice leisurely multiple course meal with my best friend. I really need it these days …
